Check the game, platform and peripheral together
Write down your exact game and platform. Then check support for the chosen peripheral. Do not infer compatibility from Bluetooth or USB alone. The G923 linked here is the PlayStation / PC version; it should not be ordered for an Xbox.
A controller for a flexible space
The Pro 2 is an option if you alternate racing and other genres on a compatible platform. It is easy to put away and does not require floor pedals. Check the features available in your game and required updates; controls are not identical in every mode.
A wheel for a dedicated racing space
For the G923, plan stable mounting, pedal space and seating that does not roll backwards whenever you brake. Measure your desk and cable routes before ordering. Wheel support and TRUEFORCE support are separate checks in the game documentation.
Include storage requirements
Picture the end of a session: must you clear your desk for work, unplug cables or move the pedals? If those steps discourage you, a controller may suit you better. A wheel makes more sense when you can reserve an installation for it and your favourite games support it.
