Prepare for video calls
Framing, lighting and positioning: identify what affects your calls before replacing the camera.
Your selection method
Open the video preview at your usual call time. Observe framing, any window behind you and reflections. Move a lamp or your chair to see whether your current equipment is enough.
If considering another camera, compare mounting, connections and your desired framing. The OBSBOT page includes Jess’s personal review; the C920s is an editorial selection Jess has not tested.
To add a light, measure its location and check the mount, cable and power requirements. Glow and Beam are alternatives to consider, not two necessary purchases. Also check the selected microphone to finish preparing for the call.
